JACKSON, Tenn. — Landowners with hunting rights for lease can contact the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension Service to list the acreage in the Tennessee Private Lands Hunting Register.

Dr. Charles Dixon of the UT Extension Service said there is no charge for the listing. Deadline to register is June 15.

Registrations should include landowner’s name, address, phone number, acreage to be leased and species of animals that may be hunted, such as deer, dove, quail, squirrel or turkey.

Mail registration information to the Tennessee Private Lands Hunting Register, UT Agricultural Extension Service, 605 Airways Blvd., Jackson, Tenn., 38301-3201, or call (901) 425-4702.

Landowners are under no obligation to lease land listed in the register, Dixon said.

“The register is a means to bring hunters and landowners together and perhaps come to an agreement that benefits both of them,” Dixon said.

Copies of the register will be distributed in mid-July to county extension offices throughout the state and will also be available at the extension office on Airways Blvd.
