KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Education will utilize the University of Tennessee’s statewide interactive video network, UT EDNET, for a series of workshops outlining the development of school improvement plans.
Every public school in Tennessee is required by the Tennessee State Board of Education to submit improvement plans by November 1997.
The workshop includes three interactive video conferences over a period of 12 weeks. Each session is four hours in length. The workshop will be repeated eight times so that different teams of principals and teachers can participate.
An instructor with the state board of education will teach the class from a Nashville site, which will be broadcast live to participants in eight other UT “smart classrooms” across the state.
