Minority Pre-law Day Scheduled For Memphis In April (210)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tennessee minority students interested in attending law school are invited to attend the second annual Tennessee Minority Pre-Law Day April 12 at the University of Memphis School of Law.

 The program is set for 9:30 a.m. CDT, Room 250 of the University of Memphis School of Law, 3715 Central Ave. Lunch will be provided.

 The event is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the law school and offer advice on how to prepare for the application and admissions process.

Admission is free. To pre-register, call the Tennessee Bar Association Offices in Nashville at (800)899-6993. Parents and pre-law advisors are encouraged to attend.

 Workshop sessions will focus on the Law School Admissions Test, how to finance a legal education, steps in the admissions process, and details of the Tennessee Pre-Professional Law Fellowship Program. A panel of current law students will discuss their law school experiences and sessions will be led by admissions officers from the participating law schools.

 Tennessee Pre-Law Day is a joint program of the Law School Admissions Council, the University of Memphis School of Law, the University of Tennessee College of Law, and the Vanderbilt University School of Law. Phone-in registration is provided by the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
