KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee College of Law moved from 43rd to 42nd place in the recent U.S. News and World Report ranking of law schools after editors discovered and corrected a miscalculation.

The editors said the error was in the database used to calculate the employment rate for 1995 law school graduates as of Feb. 15, 1996. Among the nation’s top 50 law schools, 33 changed rank in the magazine listing when the correction was made.

In other U.S. News rankings of graduate programs, the UT-Memphis College of Pharmacy was seventh nationally and the UT-Knoxville College of Business Graduate School was 49th.
