KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Workshops to help corporate managers improve employee training programs will be conducted this fall by the University of Tennessee.

Kim Pearman, training consultant for UT’s Center for Industrial Services, said corporate downsizing has caused some companies to cut costs by dropping worker education programs.

“Proper training is important to a company’s ability to grow. It can bring long-term returns through innovations, efficiency and other benefits,” Pearman said.

The workshops will be held 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Oct. 22-23 and Nov. 12-13, in rooms C and D of Thompson-Boling arena.

Registration fee is $150 and includes breakfast, lunch, parking and all workshop materials. To register, call 1-800-424-3905.
