KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Jill S. Young, a University of Tennessee accounting student, has been selected for a one-year internship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, Conn.
Young, who is in UT-Knoxville’s master of accountancy program, is one of four students chosen from a nationwide pool of nominees.
FASB establishes accounting principles that are applied by practicing accountants in the United States. Young will be assigned to major projects or short-term practice issues.
Young, of Foley, Ala., received the bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Alabama. She is the second UT-Knoxville student chosen from the FASB postgraduate intern program. After the internship, she will be employed by Ernst & Young in Atlanta.
