KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A criminal behavior specialist for the FBI will discuss cop-killers and the police officers they’ve slain in a Wednesday speech at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

The program will be broadcast to police officers across the state through the Law Enforcement Satellite Academy of Tennessee.

Ed Davis, who compiles FBI annual reports on law enforcement fatalities around the nation, is set to speak

from UT’s Center for Telecommunications and Video (CTV) from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Davis will discuss his annual FBI report which summarizes age, race, region, cause of death and other demographics of victims. He will also talk about bullet-proof vests and special training which save police lives.

Davis is author of “Killed in the Line of Duty,” a study of events surrounding the deaths of several law enforcement officers, with interviews and psychological evaluations of their killers.
