KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Spring semester top graduates at the University of Tennessee include eight Knox County students.
They are Karen Denise Denton, Karen M. Dorn, Kristen Nicole Franks, Matthew Benjamin Matteson, Timothy Robert Reuscher, Scott Nixon and Keith Townsend, all of Knoxville; and Carolyn Gardner Buttram of Heiskell.
Top graduates have the highest grade-point averages in their colleges.
UT-Knoxville’s spring graduation is at 9 a.m. Friday, May 10, in Thompson-Boling Arena. The speaker is Paula Kaufman, UT-Knoxville dean of libraries and professor.
Nixon, a philosophy major; Dorn, a psychology major; Franks, a College Scholars major; Buttram, a speech communication major; and Townsend, a political science major are top graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Matteson is the top graduate in the College of Architecture and Planning. Denton is the College of Social Work’s top scholar and Reuscher is the honor graduate in the College of Business Administration.
