UTK Names Spring Top Grads

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Spring semester top graduates at the University of Tennessee include six Knoxville area students.

They are Karen M. Dorn, 441 Russfield Drive; Kristen Nicole Franks, 1021 Sanders Road; Matthew Benjamin Matteson, 2720 Tsawasi Road; Timothy Robert Reuscher, 904 Danville Circle; Scott Nixon, 2223 Laurel Ave.; and Keith Townsend,7828 Keswick Road.

Top graduates have the highest grade-point averages in their colleges. UT-Knoxville’s spring graduation is at 9 a.m. Friday, May 10, in Thompson-Boling Arena. The speaker is Paula Kaufman, UT-Knoxville dean of libraries and professor.

Nixon, a philosophy major; Dorn, a psychology major; Franks, a College Scholars major; and Townsend, a political science major are top graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Matteson is the top graduate in the College of Architecture and Planning. Reuscher is the honor graduate in the College of Business Administration.

College of Arts and Sciences — Karen Denise Denton, social work, Fayetteville, Tenn.; Carolyn Gardner Buttram, speech communication, Heiskell; Francine H. Clinton, speech pathology, Jacksboro; Richard Ethan Pride, biology, Nashville; Joseph Brant Judkins, academic pyschology, Oak Ridge; and Xiaoqin Lucy Lu, Tamarac, Fla., Lloyd Adam Taylor, Radford, Va., Derek Christopher Welch, Hermitage, College Scholars.
