KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Dr. George Everett, UT professor of journalism, will give the annual Kappa Tau Alpha lecture Thursday, April 25.

His talk, “Such a Full Sea: Communications Opportunities for Scholars in the 21st Century,” is set for 3:40 p.m. in Hodges Library Auditorium. The lecture will encourage students concerned about media job prospects in the future, said Dr. Jim Crook, director of the School of Journalism.

Everett plans to retire this summer from the UT-Knoxville faculty. He has for two decades been adviser to Kappa Tau Alpha, the mass communications honor society. The annual lecture is named for John Lain, journalism professor emeritus and the society’s first adviser.
