TULLAHOMA, Tenn.– A University of Tennessee Space Institute professor is a visiting senior research fellow at one of Japan’s top scientific laboratories.

Dr. Narendra B. Dahotre, UTSI associate professor of materials science and engineering, is spending the month of March at the Electrotechnical Laboratory in Tsukuba Science City, Japan.

He is working with ETL researchers on new applications of laser materials processing technologies. These materials have potential uses in aerospace applications and high temperature thermoelectrical devices.

Dahotre’s expenses are being paid by a fellowship awarded by the agency of industrial science and technology, a unit of Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
