KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Parts of four parking lots at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville will be closed during spring break for repaving and renovations.

Major improvements, including new lighting, leveling and repaving, are planned for commuter area C-2 and a few spaces of staff 23, both behind Clarence Brown Theatre. The lot will be closed March 16-24 but some work will begin prior to the official closing. The lots will be closed March 9-10, Mary Lynn Holloway, administrator of Parking Services, said Thursday.

Other commuter areas and the perimeter parking area located at Tyson Park will be available for student parking. Regularly scheduled bus service is available from Tyson Park to the University Center between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri., March 11-15. Staff can park in other areas of S-23.

A large portion of staff area 9, located on Stadium Drive between Andy Holt and Yale avenues, will be closed March 16-24, Area 9 parkers can use the remainder of the lot behind Claxton Education Bldg. and the portion of S-9 near the Art and Architecture Bldg., as well as G-10 and G-12, she said.

Staff parking area 2 west of Perkins Hall will also be closed for repaving. Faculty and staff who use this lot can use other spaces in area 2 and area 3 while the work is being done, Holloway said.
