KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Colleagues of Tom Allen, former professor of business at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, have learned of his death last week in Atlanta.

 Allen, who was 63, died at Emory University Hospital Friday after undergoing a liver transplant earlier in the day.

 He was a faculty member in the UT-Knoxville finance department from 1969-1972. He resigned to enter private business in Nashville. Allen founded the Wild Boar, a Nashville restaurant, in 1993.

 Allen is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
