KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The first interview with the three candidates for the presidency of the University of Tennessee will be held June 13, a UT official said Monday.
All interviews will be held in the board room on the eighth floor of Andy Holt Tower, Beauchamp Brogan, UT general counsel and secretary of the board of trustees, said.
Dr. G. Wayne Brown, president of Cornerstone Communications of Nashville, will meet with the UT Presidential Search Committee at 10 a.m, June 13. Brown is former executive director of the Tennessee Higher Education Committee.
Acting UT President Joseph E. Johnson is scheduled for
9 a.m., June 14.
Dr. Lee B. Jones, executive vice president and provost at the University of Nebraska, will meet with the committee at
9 a.m., June 20.
In addition to the members of the board of trustees who make up the search committee, the candidates will also talk with UT faculty, Brogan said.
The search committee, chaired by Amon Carter Evans of Columbia, selected the three finalists Friday from the 16 applicants for the UT presidency. The vacancy in UT’s chief administrative office was created when Lamar Alexander was sworn in as U.S. Secretary of Education in March.
