The 15-man parachuting team called the Golden Knights, from Fort Bragg, N.C., will make a jump at 6:15 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s Tom Black Track to start a picnic for parents, coaches and students participating in Odyssey of the Mind world finals. The contest is a creative problem-solving competition being held at UT-Knoxville May 23-25. It is sponsored by IBM.
The descending parachute team will hold the flags of the countries participating in Odyssey of the Mind. The team has room for five media representatives on its C-130, which will leave from McGhee Tyson Airport. Those interested in riding must be at the airport by 5 p.m. The plane is being provided by Knoxville’s Air National Guard.
